Travellers 8 year Rom de Luxe Collectors No 9 (59.1%, PX puncheon)

N: the PX runs the show: dark, treacly fruits, dark chestnut or acacia honey, freshly toasted nuts, just-sanded wood, some leather and a touch of sulphur

P:  again a strong PX character, raisins and molasses and toasty nuts, musty acacia, wet paper. That cellary character does a lot to balance the dessertiness. A little more wood with water, and less complexity, probably best neat

Travellers 10 year That Boutique-y Rum Company batch 1 (56.1%)

N: fruity honey straws I used to clip and eat as a kid, piney wood, bourbon-y. With air and water: more aromatic, less sweet bourbon, more fresh (green, even) chopped wood 

P: plum-fruited honey sweetness, then some drying woodiness, and light menthol on the finish. With air and water: similar evolution as the nose, it’s greener and sappier, some fresh thyme even, definitely an improvement
