Bowmore 10 year 2014 Old Particular
N: clean sweet campfire smoke, marshmallow, lavender, hand soap. So pure and pretty, this puts a big smile on my face
P: lavender soap, oats, soft sweet smoke, just a whiff of the ocean and its flora, fainter hints of lemon and of vanilla…kind of a perfect young Bowmore. Even the strength at a reduced 48.4% feels just right. Beautiful and precise and moreish. I wish I had a case of this

Bowmore 22 year Whisky Craft
N: all around more laid back: the smoke is more of a distant fire now (your neighbors have one going, but you don’t); lavender again but in the manner of an elegant old perfume, not fresh flowers; dried lemon; more wood, but clearly refill cask and classy, nothing remotely heavy or tannic
P: feels very much like an older, more wizened version of the 10 year. It loses some of that fresh and floral burst and some of the sweet smoke, but gains a very attractive old wood and dried citrus character, which is especially prominent on the finish (the highlight of the pour). Really, really good, and the price is entirely fair, but honestly I like the younger one even better
