Travellers 15 year 2006 The Nectar 15th Anniversary (52%)
N: caramelly sweetness not so different from a Spanish solera style, along with dry barky wood, root beer, fatty nuts (peanut, cashew…lots of peanut)
P: again this reminds of Spanish style rum, caramel and boisé and all, and bourbon-y wood too. Some nuts, and a trace of coconut, but not nearly as much as the nose, and sorta lacks its own identity. A single drop of water seems to significantly soften the mouthfeel, but doesn’t bring anything new, and I just don’t find anything of interest here except the backhanded compliment that this may be a good gateway rum for bourbon drinkers

Travellers 16 year 2006 Holmes Cay cask #151 (61%)
N: much sharper, with coppery metal, maybe fish scales and blood even? (That element recedes with air and water, but never vanishes entirely.) Wet moss and tree bark. Caramel and nuts again too, but much more alive than the Nectar one
P: cognac-y in its acidity and coppery-woody caramel, some earth and some chocolate, faint spice and faint berry fruit

Travellers 15 year 2008 RumClub #41 (66.3%)
N: deeper and darker than the first two, more (but similar) wood and much more spice—spiced caramel apple cider spiked with bourbon
P: again a darker and sweeter oak profile with a lot of dark spice, cinnamon and allspice and black pepper. Fruit is a supporting player but there’s apple and red-black fruit
